The French Socialist Party has won a commanding majority in the National Assembly elections today. According to Le Monde's latest estimates, the PS has won 300 parliamentary seats out of 577, with another 43 going to other parties of the left and the centre-right reduced to just 226. It's the best news in European politics for many years, a real game-changer. And it matters much more than the narrow victory of the centre-right in Greece. Raise a glass!
