WIKILEAKS LESSONS – 2

Nick Cohen has a blistering piece in the Observer about the impact of Julian Assange's decision to publish unredacted American diplomatic material.
The grass or squealer usually blabs because he wants to settle scores or ingratiate himself with the authorities. Assange represents a new breed, which technology has enabled: the nark as show-off.

Another hatchet job on Assange from the Guardian stable, which was happy enough to collaborate with Wikileaks initially. When they (the Guardian) censored Wikileaks material it was often to cover up embarrassing instances of corruption. I suspect that rather than showing off, Assange and Wikileaks represent a much larger group of people who are fed up with technological warfare and mass-slaughter, most of which is concealed from the rest of us.
